Dear Hungarian LSE alumni group members, You and your guest are kindly invited to an evening discussion with Dr József Pálinkás, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Title: „Hungarian Science: The Success Scenario”
Professor Pálinkás is a distinguished nuclear physicist, a politician, and since 2008 President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS). Between 1991 and 1996 he was President of the Nuclear Research Institute of the HAS in Debrecen. Professor Pálinkás is author of almost 300 scholarly works in his field of expertise. From 1998 Dr. Pálinkás served as state-secretary in the Ministry of Education, then between 2001 and 2002, as Minister of Education. He became regular member of the HAS in 2004. His second three-year long term as President of HAS is expiring later this year. In his English lecture Dr Pálinkás will talk about the success of Hungarian science and the work done by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session as per LSE tradition. Please note that similar to our previous events, all attendees (alumni and their guests) will be kindly asked to offer a small contribution of HUF 2000 in order to cover the renting fee of the prestigious venue.
