Building on the successful participation at the previous year's Budapest Marathon, our team of enthusiastic runners are preparing to match that success at this year's event. 3 hours and 46 minutes is the time set from last year - a record to beat?
This year we dedicate our participation to a charity fundraiser.
Through this event we would like to help Ms Dóra Péterfay's studies in the UK. Dóra is a blind girl from a small town, Baja, southern Hungary. She is raised by her unemployed single mother. Thanks to enormous courage and dedication she has not only become a well-recognised musician and singer in the region but also a fluent speaker of various languages, including English.
Let me encourage you to watch this short video of her remarkable story:

Dóra's dream is to further her education in the United Kingdom. She has already successfully gained admission to Turo and Penwith College but she does not have sufficient funds to cover school related expenses.
This is why the Hungarian LSE Alumni Association is announcing its first ever fundraiser. Through the upcoming marathon, as well as via our social media channel, website and e-mails, we would like to increase awareness about Dóra's dream and raise funds so it may be turned into reality.
Let us encourage you to help her. And please be so kind and share the above with your friends and colleagues as well. Every little does help and a few thousand forints, euros, or pounds extra could already make a notable difference in her future.
The account number of the lady (Miss I Barabas) helping Dóra, while in the UK, is HSBC's 11897381sort code 40-03-04
